Ben-Schoeman is a co-founder of Tamarack Mining Services with over 20 years of experience in the mining industry from within industry and professional services. Tamarack is the first group purchasing organisation for the mining industry globally and operates in Canada, Mexico and the United States and is planning expansion into other jurisdiction. Prior to the formation of Tamarack Mining Services, Ben-Schoeman lead the Deloitte Mining Practice in Toronto. Prior to joining Deloitte in 2014 as National Mining Tax Leader for Canada and Chile, Ben-Schoeman lead the KPMG Mining Tax Group in Johannesburg. Ben-Schoeman spent 6 years with the Anglo American plc. Group of Companies working across the coal, base metals and platinum divisions. Ben-Schoeman has acted as audit committee member for group companies and board director for subsidiaries. As tax lawyer he gained extensive experience in supply chain and procurement related matters across various jurisdictions working within the supply chain environment for mining companies. He is an admitted attorney in South Africa and holds various post graduate degrees from Universities in South Africa and Canada. He has authored a number of articles related to mining taxation and financing and regularly speaks at industry events.
