Warren Newfield has more than 30 years of business experience, focusing on emerging markets. He has developed mining projects in numerous jurisdictions, including Africa, North America, and South America. In 2008 Miningmx acknowledged Mr. Newfield as one of the 100 most influential people in the Southern African mining industry. Mr. Newfield was a co-founder and director of Toronto Stock Exchange (“TSX”) listed companies Platexco Inc, until Impala Platinum acquired the company in 2000 for $191M; AfriOre Limited, a company sold to Lonmin PLC in 2007 for $496m; and CIC Energy, which Jindal Steel acquired in 2012 for $116m. In addition, Warren Newfield is the founder and Executive Chairman of Talon Metals Corp, a TSX-listed exploration and development company with a controlling stake in the most significant nickel deposit in the United States, in a joint venture with Rio Tinto. Talon Metals Corp recently announced an offtake agreement with Tesla. Mr. Newfield is also the founder of Tau Capital, a mining and real estate advisory and finance business.
